Psychotherapist In Oceanside, CA

I have been treating substance use disorders since 1997 and am in recovery myself.  As a psychotherapist with extensive training in addictions, I am adept at treating individuals who are engaged in a 12-step group or who choose another path for their recovery.  My primary concern is that the path works.  In addition, I am the immediate past Chairman of the National Certification Commission for Addiction Professionals at NAADAC and serve on the executive committee of the Global Certification and Credentialing Commission.  Both of these boards serve to provide public protection in North America as well as in many other  countries abroad. Located in Oceanside, I am easily accessible by those in Carlsbad, Encinitas, and other North San Diego County cities.

I have many years of experience as a therapist working with Trauma and PTSD.  I have provided Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy for a decade and was also trained in the Trauma Resilience Model (TRM) by its Founder Elaine Miller-Karas, LCSW.  I have used these therapies in depth in outpatient and inpatient settings with groups such as adolescents, athletes, other psychotherapists,  law enforcement, fire service professionals, and survivors of abuse.  Family of origin issues are also within my repertoire.  

While not all therapies can be used in a telehealth setting, many can and the convenience of being able to find the right therapist is often the most important aspect of therapy.  With this in mind, telehealth will be offered to those in other areas of California, for those who have busy schedules, and those who prefer it!
