I’ve been treating substance use disorders since 1997—and I’m also in recovery myself. As a psychotherapist with extensive training in addictions, I support clients engaged in 12-step programs as well as those following other recovery paths. What matters most to me is that your path is working for you.

I am the immediate past Chairman of the National Certification Commission for Addiction Professionals (NAADAC) and formerly served as Credentialing Chairman on the executive committee of the Global Certification and Credentialing Commission (GCCC). Both organizations focus on setting standards and protecting the public across North America and internationally.

My office is located in Oceanside, easily accessible to clients in Carlsbad, Encinitas, and throughout North San Diego County. I also offer telehealth services to individuals anywhere in California, providing flexible access to care both in person and online.

I bring many years of experience working with trauma and PTSD, using evidence-based approaches to support healing and resilience. I’ve provided Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy for over a decade and was trained in the Trauma Resilience Model (TRM) by its founder, Elaine Miller-Karas, LCSW.

These modalities have been central to my work in both outpatient and inpatient settings, and I’ve used them extensively with adolescents, athletes, fellow psychotherapists, law enforcement, fire service professionals, and survivors of abuse. I also work with family-of-origin issues, which often underlie trauma responses and relational patterns.

While not all therapeutic approaches translate seamlessly to telehealth, many do—and for many people, finding the right therapist matters more than being in the same room. With that in mind, I offer telehealth services to clients throughout California, whether for convenience, scheduling flexibility, or personal preference.
